The Center for Social Justice (CSJ) is home to multiple student organizations and is committed to advancing social justice in fields such as education, support for immigrant communities, and literacy. Additionally, the Alternative Breaks Program provides students with the chance to interact with local and global communities through six different immersion trips, dedicated to examining social justice issues and taking action to create positive change.

Mentoring young students in D.C., offering pro bono legal services, and caring for the sick at a clinic are just a few of the ways students can get involved. With over 100 university-sponsored service opportunities, Georgetown students always have the chance to engage in addressing some of today’s most pressing issues.

On Campus and Beyond

350+ student organizations provide students with opportunities to find community on campus. The Center for Student Engagement even offers students the chance to create clubs through its outreach and resources. With a variety of academic musical ensembles (for which students can earn academic credit), Georgetown offers involvement through Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Orchestra. The de la Cruz and Spagnuolo art galleries on campus encourage immersion in artistic exhibitions that spark social engagement and conversation through a contemporary lens.
