TUTORING
Tutoring is recommended for students who want to review class-specific subject matter, pinpoint precise weaknesses, and/or meet at a convenient time. While tutoring can be structured just like a class, it also can have a loose structure--it entirely depends on YOU.
Typically tutoring students fall under three categories:
1) to improve school work and study for tests
2) to prepare for standardized tests, such as SAT/ACT, with practice tests or our curriculum
3) to seek enrichment in ELA or STEM with our curriculum.
How Does Tutoring Work at B2A?
How your tutoring sessions are conducted is entirely up to you, but you most likely will have the tutor lead the sessions. Here is what you can expect. During the first tutoring session, the tutor will assess your strengths, weaknesses, and goals for the subject. The tutor will do this with material you have brought or B2A material--usually a practice test.
After the first session, the tutor will have a better idea of how to prepare and at the end of the session, the tutor will give you a better sense of how the sessions will be conducted. Subsequent sessions will be a mixture of homework review, learning concepts, and guided practice.
You Just Need to Bring Yourself
For tutoring, you don’t have to bring any materials. Our tutors are instructed to prepare lessons and have our vast resources at their disposal. Of course, if you need help with a specific assignment from school, the tutor will be more than happy to help you.
